Camera-traps, also known as: trailcams, remote cameras and trail cameras... have come a long way since the early days of home-built systems and trip wires. Today’s digital camera-traps are triggered by heat and movement and have the ability to run for months on one set of batteries and take thousands of images in that time. Most today also take video clips and have a wide selection of other functions like the ability to do time-lapse sequences.
We use a variety of cameras and make it our duty to test new models as they are released. In that way we aim to always use the most appropriate camera for the job. On our safaris we ensure that all clients have a variety of cameras to choose from. So whatever your camera-trapping interests we will have the appropriate trailcam equipment for you. All clients will have a minimum of two cameras at their disposal and often more than that.
We also carry all the required technology to enhance our safari experience. This would include rugged GPS handhelds, laptops and an iPad for instantly viewing the results in the field. However you are obviously welcome to bring your own laptop or tablet with you.
